The North American Bison Discovery Center is offering guided tours of its bison pastures, allowing visitors to experience our herds up close and personal. From the safety of our vehicle, learn about bison behavior, herd dynamics, and our herd management practices, including how we keep our animals safe and healthy. Enjoy watching our herd interact with one another in their peaceful surroundings, take pictures, and ask questions.

What to bring – We recommend a hat, water bottle, sunglasses, sunscreen, bug spray, and a light jacket or windbreaker.

What not to bring – Do not bring items that cannot fit comfortably on your lap. Do not bring drinks other than water. Do not bring tobacco or vapor products. Do not bring tripods, selfie sticks, drones, loud electronics or other toys, devices, or games.

What to expect – The pasture tour travels in an open-air vehicle. Participants will be getting in and out of a high-clearance vehicle, possibly more than once. Participants will be required to wear seatbelts while in the moving vehicle. If the daily tour is in the south pasture, the vehicle will travel for just under 3 miles on city streets and a federal highway. While in the pasture, the vehicle will travel over uneven terrain. Bumps and jostling are likely. Though our staff takes safety very seriously, participants will be in close proximity to wild animals.

Check-in at the North American Discovery Center is 15 minutes prior to the tour departure time. Same-day tickets may be purchased at least 15 minutes prior to the tour departure time, if available. Seating is limited. Refunds will not be available for late or no-show ticket holders. Weather may impact this excursion.

For your safety, you should be in good health & free from high blood pressure, heart, neck or back problems, motion sickness, or other conditions that could be aggravated by this tour. Guests who are pregnant should not ride. This tour is not accessible by wheelchair. Guests must be able to transfer from their chair on their own and navigate several stairs within the vehicle. Service animals are not permitted on the tour.

We are not responsible for damage to personal property. Items falling out of the truck will not be retrieved if it is considered too dangerous to do so.
